drooling up a storm
March 11th, 2005 by HollyWell, Griffin turned 4 months on Monday. He had is check-up yesterday and he weighed in at 16lbs 11oz. Still the 90th percentile for weight. When Sean came home last night, he asked “How’s the peanut?” and I said “He’s not a peanut! He’s 16lbs 11oz!” Sean said, “OK then, how’s the butter ball? How’s the peanut butter ball?
He got 2 more shots yesterday (Hib and DPT) and although the first time he had no reaction whatsoever, last night he was pretty cranky and the shot sites got red and hot. He slept well though and was right as rain again this morning.
He’s now drooling up a storm and jamming all hands into his wee pie-hole, whether or not they will fit. His doc said that means he’s preparing to cut some teeth (but that it could take weeks or months). He’s also been able to pull himself up and stand up with some support for about 2 weeks. His leg and neck strength seem to be ahead of schedule, but he’s lagging on some other timely milestones like rolling over and pushing up on his arms, so I guess he’s right on target.
His slate blue eyes have started to lighten around the iris a bit so they are beautiful little orbs. When I asked his doctor about when/if they would change color, she said “Well it looks like he’s got blue eyes for good, but the tint can change up until he’s about 2 years old.”
Attached is a photo of Griff standing up and being very pleased with himself. He loooves practicing this new skill. Also attached is an mp3 of him giggling when I was doing raspberries on his neck. Very cute.
He’s all smiles this morning listening to classical music, I mean non stop smiling, it’s funny. I guess he likes it more than the BBC news I usually play in the mornings :o) We’ve got a lovely baby here, folks. Lucky lucky.
Love to all, Holly
