Griffin turned two whole months old
January 8th, 2005 by HollyHey GPs–Some more pictures and stats for you. Griffin turned two whole months old on Friday, January 7th. I got him weighed on that day and he tipped the scales in his birthday suit at 12lbs 15.5oz (so basically 13 pounds.) His birthday suit’s getting bigger! This is still the 90th percentile for his age, which is good. He’s been going through a growth spurt and seemed constantly hungry for more than I could provide, so I wanted to get him weighed just to make sure he wasn’t wasting away. He’s not!
During this spell we tried some formula just to supplement his intake. I think he had half a can of it. He wasn’t a real fan of it, but he did get it down. I sort of felt like I was giving him junk food. Terrible nappies! Much harder to clean. So now we’re back to the original diet, and it’s going well.
The thrush is all but gone. I just switched to an herbal remedy of grapefruit seed extract and so far it’s working well after 3 days. After eliminating nearly every source of (much beloved) sugar from my diet, I discovered that HIS thrush medicine was sweetened with real sugar. (about as sensible as sweetening toothpaste with real sugar….) I’d been having luck getting rid of it myself but decided he needed a different approach. So far so good. He’s smiling and “talking” up a storm now, often harmonizing with Sean’s gibberish. He’s now good friends with the smiling man in his mobile– he smiles back all the time now. He’s brightening up and looking around a lot now too. He hasn’t discovered his hands have fingers on them yet but you can tell he’s about to stumble on that revelation.
He’s gone 2 months without getting a cold and I’m hoping to get to 3 months, at least.
All for now, stay tuned and Happy New Year.
